Academic All-State Chair

Collect nominations from coaches

Check coaches membership credentials.

Set up an account with local awards store

As coaches send in coupons for a hole in one, have plaque produced and
send to the athlete.

As coaches send in coupons for 25 years of coaching, the plaque needs to
be produced and presented at the summer clinic.

1st Team All-State Girls Plaques and Player of the Year plaque
need to be produced and sent to the athlete (fall).
-
Picture Plaques State Champions Girls need to be produced and sent to the
appropriate school (fall).
-
Friend of Golf Award produced and presented at the summer clinic.
-
PGA Friend of Golf Award produced and presented at the summer clinic.
-
Hall of Fame Plaques produced and presented at the summer clinic. (2
plaques, 1 for coach & 1 for the wall at U-Ridge)

1st Team All-State Boys Plaques and Player of the Year plaque
need to be produced and sent to the athlete (summer).

Picture Plaques State Champions Boys need to be produced and sent to the
appropriate school (summer).

Coach
Approach
-
The Coach Approach is published 4 times per year (end of Sept., Jan.,
March, and July)
-
Articles and information should be submitted by others by the
15th of each month. Typically, the President and the WIAA
representive will submit an article. Minutes of board meeting will be
included from the Vice President. Forms can be included (Membership,
All-State, Hole-in-One, etc). Other golf related articles can be included
(Where are they now, etc.) if room permits.

Membership labels are supplied by the Membership chair although you need
to request them.

A different color paper is ordered each year.
-
Once the layout is complete, it needs to be printed. Print about 25
copies more than the membership count.

Fold, staple, and label each newsletter.

Mail out (presently through the school)
Send the bill for layout, printing, and postage to the treasurer.
Girl's All-State
Chair
-
Collect nominations from coaches.

Send names, school and All-State Team to web-site coordinator.

Send names and addresses of All-State 1st Team members to

Normally we have three teams; 1st Team (6 players),
2nd Team (6), 3rd Team (6), and Honorable mention (any
other deserving athletes).
Hall of
Fame / Special Gifts
-
Review and revise nomination forms for Hall-of-Fame Award, PGA Friend of
Golf Award, and Friend of Golf Award.
-
Nominations for these three awards are due by February 15.
-
Nomination forms will be reviewed, making sure of accuracy and all
required information is received.
-
Selections for each award are choosen at the Spring Board meeting.
-
A letter will be sent to each recipient to congratulate them and
information relating to the presentation at the Summer Clinic.
-
A similar letter is sent to the nominator to encourage them to also
attend the clinic and present the award.
-
Information and a 8” x 10” photo will need to be submitted by the
nominator or the recipient. Wording is 40 words and up to 7 lines.
This is for the two plaques, one for the recipient and one for the Wall-of-Fame
at University Ridge (this is only for Hall-of Fame Award Recipients only).

Plaque will need to be produced for the PGA Friend of Golf and Friend of
Golf.

Chairperson of this duty will introduce the Award winners at the summer
clinic.

Award winners names and brief information will be fowarded to the Coach
Approach editor.
Award winners names will be forwarded to the Web site coodinator.

Membership
Chair

Will help prepare membership application form.

Will send out mailer to coaches with application form.

Will collect membership fee from coaches. Will deposit funds into
our association checking account.

Will update membership list in data base.

Will send out membership card and bag tag.
-
Will create labels for Coach Approach and other association mailings.

Will assist with eligibility of coaches for nomination players for
All-State.

Membership data will be received until May 15 for each year.

Will give a brief report to the board at each board meeting.

Summer
Clinic
-
The Summer Clinic held during the middle of June. Most of the years the
Board would have a meeting on Monday night, then there is a meeting for all
coaches in the association on Tuesday morning. After the general meeting, there
is a PGA Clinic, a lunch and an 18-hole shotgun state tournament.

Select a course (w/ a large meeting room) and set the price. Once the
price is set, work with the board (and Dave Blake) to find out the price limits
on the tee gift / welcome gift.

Work w/ Head Pro on – Event, Course Events, Scoreboards, scorecards, Menu
for lunch, Menu for breakfast, Gift Cards, Cart signs.
